National Guard soldiers were being deployed to Afghanistan to help local Afghani people complete humanitarian projects ranging from business to agriculture.

Incorporate new methodologies and technology into traditional millitary standard operating procedures.
What we built
A private android app that was shipped to Afghanistan for National Guard soldiers to perform field research.
Field research
Observed military exercises and participated in field training sessions to collect real use cases, workflows and constraints.
User testing
Conducted field tests with the app to refine our designs. User testing gave us valuable feedback by seeing how the technology created unanticipated changes in the interaction between soldiers and locals in the field.
